Carly Rae Jepsen is a Canadian artist born on 21 November, 1985, in the Mission area of British Columbia. She began playing the guitar as a child and by the time she entered high school, she was already appearing in local talent shows. After graduating from high school, she went to an institution called the Canadian College of Performing Arts located in Victoria, British Columbia. The year 2007 was the year she was able to make it into the Top 3 in Canadian Idol. Canadian Idol fifth season. She released her debut Tug of War album in 2008 following the event.
